She Has The Look Of Predator Not Prey...

I really can't explain it but even in early Madonna interviews, Madonna has a certain look in her eye that said: "Yeah bitch, I'm here. Fucking pay attention."
From the very beginning you knew she was the one in charge of everything. She's in charge of her look, her music, the interview, everything. I have yet to see that in any famous pop star out there today. That's why I laugh whenever the press is so quick to say who the "next Madonna" is. I laughed out loud when they said it about Britney. Come on now...look at Britney's eyes..(well, not right now, they're pretty much glassed over..) but PRE-Kevin/PRE-meltdown Britney. When she was everyone's darling...all you had to do was look at her eyes. She wasn't the next Madonna. Not even close. She had the look of the typical pop star puppet that had been carefully created and was carefully controlled by music executives in stuffy suits. You KNOW she's not the one responsible for her look, her music and her interviews are lovingly scripted by someone else. She has the look of prey and the recent Britney proves that she was. Eaten up by the fame machine.
Madonna has lasted as long as she has because she has the combination of sex appeal, ambition, strong work ethic, focus, courage and BRAINS. You would be hard pressed to find a smart pop artist and that's why I think most of them haven't lasted as long as Madonna. Or if they were smart, they don't have the balls to back it up, or the ambition to see it through.

Simply put, Madonna, from the very beginning, was a predator. She wasn't anyone's puppet. Madonna is her own carefully crafted creation. She's the CEO, CFO, secretary, receptionist and janitor of Madonna,Inc.

There is no "next Madonna" because there is no need for a "next Madonna." Madonna's still here and she's left a mark so large on the music and entertainment industry, no pop star will ever fill her shoes.

Seriously, I'm in love with this woman.

Britney? Who dat?

I do kinda get a Madonna feel from Gwen Stefani (don't get pissed at me).

Jali: I ain't mad atcha girl! I love Gwen Stefani. She's my Madonna lite and thankfully she has gone on tour whenever Madonna is not on tour. It wards off the Madonna cravings.

There'll never be a next Madonna, as I've said before. Someone may come along and try to copy the sound, the look, the style. But another artist coming along who has her fearlessness, her creativity, her intelligence? No. Not going to happen.

Furthermore, Madonna was a trailblazer. Anyone who comes along CAN'T be the next Madonna because they'd be walking down the trail she has created over the last 25 years.

Waiting for the "next Madonna" is like waiting for the next Babe Ruth, or next Bob Barker. They broke the mold when they made The Babe. They broke the mold when they made The Bob. And, they broke the mold when they made The Queen.
